World SuperSport: Joan Lascorz and Roberto Tamburini Crash Video

Yesterday’s World SuperSport race at Silverstone was marred by this horrific crash at the exit of turn one on the first lap.
Eugene Laverty clips the front wheel of Joan Lascorz’s Kawasaki sending the Spanish rider down and falling in front of the pack where he gets hit by wildcard Yamaha rider Roberto Tamburini.

The young Italian, with nowhere to go crashes into the downed Lascorz and his bike and then tumbles into the unprotected wall.

Lascorz’s Kawasaki caught fire in the impact as the race was immediately red flaggedBoth riders were sent to the hospital where Lascorz was diagnosed with four broken ribs, a fracture to his left shoulder blade, a finger injury and some blood inside his lung and according to his team he will remain in the hospital for a week, while Tamburini suffered a fracture to his left collarbone and heavy bruising to his back and a concussion.
