The expected rain showers at Phillip Island cut short the third and final day of WSBK testing with Aprilia’s Max Biaggi once again the fastest of the four riders taking part in the test.
Biaggi’s fastest lap was 1′32″1 on the Evo3 version of the RSV4, which equaled Leon Haslam best lap on the Alstare Suzuki during this year’s Race 1 win in the season opener at the Island, but the Italian hammered out consistent runs under the 1.

Yamaha’s Eugene Laverty was only slightly slower than Biaggi, but his best lap was done on qualifying tires, while his long runs were much higher up on the time charts over the 1’34’s using the 2010 R1 version.
Marco Melandri continued his coming to grips with the new 2011 R1.
The former MotoGP rider’s best time was 1′32″4 during the morning session, but he also had another crash, while Leon Camier after yesterday’s problems was fourth at 1′32″5 and just 4 tenths from his team mate.
