It looks as though Valentino Rossi’s test drive of a Ferrari with the excuse that it was a present to himself for winning the MotoGP 2008 championship could be an exercise in smoke and mirrors, according to Rossi’s friend and sidekick Uccio Salucci.
Apparently Rossi’s real desire after the test runs would be to drive in competition with Ferrari, declaring that “the track is my home”.

It looks like the Ferrari Formula 1 red is too big a temptation to resist, and Rossi is said to have clocked some impressive times in his test run at Mugello.

Rossi’s friend, Salucci, has been quoted as saying that Rossi “thinks of nothing else” but the possibility of becoming an F1 driver.
Given his contract with Yamaha ends in 2010, it could be the perfect opportunity for a change and something new.
Could Valentino Rossi be the next Ferrari F1 champion?!
