The first official testing session at Portimao has kicked off and the World Supersport teams were the first on the cold Portuguese track this morning, and after pretty extensive testing this winter, it was no surprise to see the two Kawasaki Motocard riders, David Salom and Broc Parkes the fastest in the first session, taking the first and second spots.

It was however a surprise to see Luca Scassa and Chaz Davies who are debuting on the BE1 Yamaha, take third and fourth respectively on the ‘refreshed’ 2009 Yamaha’s with Scassa just a little more than four tenths of a second from Salom.
