The 2012 edition of the World Ducati Week has just closed its doors and the success in terms of numbers and attendants definitely lived up to the expectations.
Over 65,000 passionate ‘Ducatisti’ showed up at the event gathering from every corner of the world at Misano World Circuit, which has been recently entitled to the late Marco Simoncelli.

So much so that the the whole ‘paddock’ area – which had become the official parking lot of the event for the week – was quite simply flooded with motorcycles, the large majority of which were red.

Hanging around this massive parking lot set up – impeccably managed by the WDW stewards – it wasn’t hard to run into some models that were particularly intriguing, and that quite often were already surrounded by some other Ducati fans intent to study the peculiarities that somehow set those bikes apart from the ‘crowd’.
The almost-religious cult that surrounds the creations of th Italian manufacturer has always urged his followers to seek new ways to customize their Ducati and the WDW is without a doubt the best environment in which to exhibit their creations, wonderful ‘modified’ motorcycles absolutely unique and, at the same time, reflective of the personality and creativity of their owners.

Here is a photo gallery of the finest Ducati sportbikes spotted at the event by our colleagues from Motoblog.
it, meaning the various incarnations of 916, 996, 998, 999, 1098, 1198, 1199 Panigale and their little ’sisters’ 748, 749, 898 and so on.
It’s a collection of models that for one reason or for the other – a particular color scheme or some cool technical feature – just caught the attention of our buddies.
There’s something for every taste, the extremely cool ones as well as the pretty odd ones, and it surely makes for a nice watch.
