Grand Prix, ninth round of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship, saw Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) finishing second at the chequered flag and stretching his lead in the standings over fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa (Honda), who finished third in California and is now 23 points behind the Yamaha rival.
Reigning World Champon Casey Stoner (Honda), who won the race yesterday, is now 33 points behind, but the fight for the title is all but over.
Next round is scheduled for the next 17th of August, when the MotoGP stars will take on the legandary Indianapolis track.
