Alvaro Bautista was fourth and bettering his yesterday’s qualifying before taking a big crash at turn 8.
Marco Simoncelli took 5th ahead of Ben Spies, Andrea Dovizioso, Nicky Hayden, Colin Edwards and Randy De Puniet who rounded out the top ten.
Valentino Rossi who yesterday qualified in 16th managed to shave off some very scanty tenths of second and finish 11th following his team mate Hayden in the final minutes of the session, but it will definitely be an uphill race for the Italian.
