Motegi GP causes concern for riders

Does anyone remember John Lee Hooker’s song “I don’t wanna go to Vietnam”? Well it seems that the GP riders don’t wanna go to Motegi in October.
The Japanese GP as everyone knows, was postponed after the devasting earthquake and tsunami that hit the country in March, but it’s the leaks and high levels of radiation coming from the Fukushima plant that are making the riders and not only them, think twice about travelling to the Twin Ring circuit and risk any possible exposure.

Carmelo Ezpeleta wants the race to be held and is expected to commit to a final decision in July, but according to Valentino Rossi who is part of the Safety Commission, several riders have already expressed concern about going to Japan.

Rossi also admitted that if all the members of paddock should decide to express their opinions against going to Japan and put up a unified front, then Dorna would have to listen to them.
“If everybody is agreed and all the riders are agreed, we can say we won’t go.

” said Rossi.
