Over 40 riders from the 125cc class and Moto2 after the Catalunya GP headed to another part of Spain, to the new Motorland Aragon race track for a two day test session organized by Pere Gurt of Tuenti Moto2 Racing Team, that is being held ahead of the Gran Premio de Aragon scheduled for September 19th.
Several MotoGP riders will also be present, but due to the rules that prohibit using MotoGP bikes outside official tests, they will be riding street bikes to get to know the new Spanish venue, that substituted the Balatonring circuit, after funding problems halted construction of the Hungarian track.
Nicky Hayden, Mika Kallio and Aleix Espargaro will be using Ducati 1198’s, while Randy de Puniet and Hector Barbera tried out the impressive circuit last week always on street bikes.
Rizla Suzuki riders Loris Capirossi and Alvaro Bautista did a promotional event yesterday on the new Spanish circuit and here’s what they had to say:“It ’s a fun circuit, and fun to ride because there’s more safety,” said Bautista “The run offs are large and spacious, with asphalt and gravel and this allows you to take more risks.
”“The circuit has several blind turns, it’s nice and very complicated” added Loris Capirossi.
“The last turn is especially amazing, it goes upwards and it’s very fun.
