2 Bikers in the Roses des Sables Trophy

The Roses des Sables Trophy is a competition that takes place in Morocco and is a women only rally and is based on the tradition of African rally raids.
The event is open to women drivers of all levels amateur and confirmed pilots of 4×4, motobikes and quads.

Two Quebec women, Chantal Cournoyer and Stephanie Chagnon were the only motorcyclists in the event, riding BMW 450X’s and were reported as the first motorcycle riders to cross the finish line in the rally’s eight year history.

The Roses des Sables Trophy is also a humanitarian event dedicated to disadvantaged desert children.

Each team must supply and carry 50 kg (4WDS) and 25 kg (motorcycles) of school supplies (copybooks, pencils, pens, etc.
) to the starting line of the first leg in Fès.
The gifts are personally delivered to the President of the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children, under the aegis of UNICEF, which then redistributes them to the neediest.
