Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s manager, Scott Kellacher, has confirmed that defender Remi Savage may be fit to play in the upcoming League One match against Montrose. Savage sustained a back injury during a Scottish Cup match against Cove Rangers, raising concerns about his availability for the crucial fixture.

The team has been grappling with several injuries, making Savage’s potential return a significant boost for the squad.

Kellacher addressed the media during his weekly pre-match press conference, stating, “We’ve had a few boys injured of late, and two or three are 50-50 at the moment.

We’ll wait and see how they progress.” He highlighted that Savage had engaged in light running, which was encouraging news for the team. Additionally, Keith Bray is also recovering from a shoulder injury and participated in some running work.

Team morale and performance in League One

Inverness has been striving to close the gap on eighth-placed Annan Athletic, having recently secured victories against Cove and Alloa Athletic. With the team currently facing a challenging situation due to injuries, Kellacher emphasized the importance of managing player fitness carefully. “As much as we want them back, we can’t take chances in rushing them given the circumstances we’re in and the size of the squad we have,” he remarked.

The manager’s cautious approach reflects the team’s commitment to ensuring players are fully fit before returning to action. With defenders Connall Ewan and Lewis Nicolson also on the injury list, the squad’s depth is being tested. On-loan midfielder Charlie Reilly and defender Jake Davidson are expected to be sidelined for a longer duration, further complicating the team’s preparations.

As Inverness prepares to face Montrose, Kellacher is aware of the challenges that lie ahead. Montrose, managed by Stewart Petrie, has proven to be a formidable opponent, and Kellacher anticipates a tightly contested match. “They have some very good players at Montrose. Stewart has done a great job. It is a really hard place to go, and our boys are aware of that,” he noted.

Kellacher pointed out that the league is highly competitive, stating, “If you can put two or three wins together, the league changes every week.” With the right mindset and a focus on performance, the team is determined to capitalize on their recent form and continue their push up the table.
