Popeyes opens its first drive-thru in Aberdeen with exciting offers

Popeyes, the renowned Louisiana chicken chain, is set to make waves in Aberdeen with the grand opening of its first drive-thru at Wellington Circle. This marks the second location in the city, following the successful launch of the Union Street store in April of last year.

The new outlet will officially open its doors to the public at 11 AM on Monday, April 13, and early customers can look forward to some enticing giveaways.

Exciting promotions for the first customers

To celebrate the opening, Popeyes is offering a year’s supply of chicken sandwiches to the first three customers who arrive.

Additionally, the first 100 patrons will receive a complimentary chicken sandwich. Last year’s opening at Union Street saw hundreds of eager customers lining up for a chance to win similar prizes, with three university students emerging victorious after a long wait.

This time, the excitement is expected to be just as palpable as locals flock to the new drive-thru.

Innovative AI ordering system

A standout feature of the new Popeyes location is its cutting-edge AI ordering service, which will be available for drive-thru customers. This innovative technology is currently being tested and is expected to be fully operational in the coming months. General Manager Rachel Cree expressed her enthusiasm for the opening, stating, “It’s been a long time coming. The team is really excited and looking forward to serving Aberdeen.” Operations Manager Phil Divers added that the AI system is already in the background, learning the accents of customers to enhance the ordering experience.

A diverse menu and vibrant atmosphere

Customers can anticipate a wide array of menu items, including Popeyes’ famous chicken sandwiches, wraps, and tenders. Starting Tuesday, January 14, early commuters will also have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast options from 8 AM to 11 AM, featuring breakfast wraps, rolls, and muffins alongside their morning coffee. The restaurant boasts a vibrant color scheme that pays homage to its Louisiana roots, providing a welcoming atmosphere with ample seating options.

With 80 new staff members hired, customers can expect friendly service as they place their orders at one of the four screens or directly over the counter. For those who prefer the convenience of drive-thru, the AI ordering system promises to streamline the process once fully implemented.
