The highly anticipated Lochaber Live music festival is making its grand return in 2025, with tickets officially going on sale today at 9 AM. This beloved Scottish festival, renowned for its stunning location at the foot of Ben Nevis, was successfully revived last year by musician and broadcaster Gary Innes, who is also the presenter of the popular show ‘Take the Floor’.
A rich history and a promising future
Originally launched in the 1980s and 1990s, Lochaber Live had been dormant for three decades before its revival in September 2023. The festival welcomed an impressive 7,000 attendees over three days, showcasing the best of Highland hospitality and music.
The upcoming 2025 edition is set to take place at the An Aird Shinty Field from Friday, September 12, to Sunday, September 14, promising an unforgettable experience for festival-goers.
An impressive lineup of artists
This year’s lineup, announced today, features a stellar array of talent, including the Celtic supergroup Mànran, the legendary Scottish vocalist Karen Matheson of Capercaillie fame, and the West Coast legends Trail West. Additionally, acclaimed Irish folk artist Cara Dillon, who first graced the festival stage as a teenager, will return to perform. The Peatbog Faeries from Skye, along with Fort William’s own Breabach and the fiddle-led quartet FARA, will also be part of the exciting roster, celebrating their 10th anniversary.
A family-friendly atmosphere
Lochaber Live is designed to be an inclusive event, with no age restrictions. The festival will feature ticketed events on Friday and Saturday nights, culminating in a free family day on Sunday. This day will include a massive ceilidh, allowing attendees of all ages to enjoy traditional Highland music and dance. Festival-goers can also indulge in the finest Highland food and drink, creating a vibrant community atmosphere.
Due to popular demand, limited seating will be available for this year’s event, ensuring a cozy yet lively environment for all attendees. Gary Innes expressed his excitement about the festival’s return, stating, “Bringing Lochaber Live back to the region last year was an incredibly proud moment in my career. I’m thrilled to present such an incredible list of artists who will join us for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.”
As the festival approaches, anticipation continues to build, with tickets now available for purchase. Weekend tickets are on sale, while day tickets will be released on Friday, February 28, at 9 AM. For more information about the festival and to secure your tickets, visit <a href="
