Environmental health officers conducting the inspection in found fresh mouse droppings in multiple areas throughout the food preparation and storage spaces. The report highlighted that the infestation was not a minor issue but rather a widespread problem that posed serious contamination risks.

As a result, Ole & Steen was fined £26,000 and ordered to pay additional costs of £8,847bringing the total penalty to over £34,000.
