Boris Johnson's father warns PM will need some time to rest before returning to action, when he gets out of the hospital.
Today is the fourth day Boris Johnson treated in hospital. After announcing that he got infected by Covid-19, he did self-quarantine at home. And four days ago, he was rushed to the hospital because his condition worsened. To reassure everyone about his son’s condition, Boris Johnson’s father said he is improving and warns that he will need time to rest.

Now his condition is improving and he move from intensive care to the general ward at St Thomas’ hospital last night.
Stanley Johnson said ‘relief is the right word’ and admitted his son almost ‘took one for the team’ – insisting there is no prospect of him returning to work soon. Ministers have been speculating it could take weeks before Mr. Johnson is back in action.
Stanley Johnson also added that his son must rest up. Boris has to take time. “He can not get straight back to Downing Street and pick up the reins without a period of readjustment. But that’s just me talking as a layman”. However, a long absence for Mr. Johnson to recuperates will fuel fears of a power vacuum at the heart of the government.
Although Mr. Raab is deputizing, he does not have the full powers of a PM and there are claims that major decisions over lockdown are being delayed in the hope Mr. Johnson can be involved. Mr. Raab, the Foreign Secretary and First Secretary of State, began the daily news conference by saying: ‘Can I start with an update on the Prime Minister – he’s still in intensive care but he continues to make positive steps forward and he’s in good spirits.’
But he confirmed that he had not spoken to Mr. Johnson since taking over his duties. Asked if they had been in touch he said that not yet. It’s important, particularly while Prime Minister is in intensive care that he is able to focus on his recovery.
