EU approves Ducati acquisition by Audi

It was just a matter of legal pro-forma but the European Union has granted approval of Audi‘s acquisition of Ducati.
The purchase of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer was announced on April 18th, but the deal was subject to examination by anti-trust authorities.

Late last month (forgive us if we missed it then) the deal was officially confirmed and that it “does not raise serious doubts as to its compatibility with the common market” (Article 6(1)(b) of the E.

U.
Merger Regulation.

)With the official okay, Volkswagen’s Chairman Ferdinand Piëch, can finally enter the two-wheel marked with an iconic motorcycle company like Ducati and the best of Made in Italy can offer.
Audi owns 100% of the company and reportedly paid Investindustrial 850 million euros to buy the Bologna manufacturer.
