The recently unveiled 2014 Mazda3 has introduced several all-new safety systems under the umbrella known as i-Activsense.
These technologies use sensing devices such as milliwave radars and cameras to support the driver in recognizing hazards, avoiding collisions and minimizing damage, should accidents occur.
Just to give you an idea, some of the features available under the i-ACTIVSENSE system are High Beam Control (HBC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW), Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC).

The names alone are quite self-explanatory though, aren’t they? All in all, it sounds like a very complete package, that combined with other systems such as ABS and ESP will significantly reduce the risk of accidents for the third generation five-door sedan of the Japanese brand.
It goes without saying that these systems will not eliminate accidents, their intent is to minimize them and reduce the severity of a crash, and in order to give us a better understanding of what this i-Activsense safety system is all about, the Mazda was kind enough to release this new official video: just check it out.
