Three riders, two on factory bikes and one on a privateer Ducati, and the sum of the age of all three riders adds up to 116, but veterans Max Biaggi, Carlos Checa and Troy Corser, certainly didn’t show they have intention in slowing down in Race 1 at Misano Adriatico, but it was Max Biaggi who cruised to his seventh victory of the season.

Poleman Troy Corser took the lead of the race, but he had Max Biaggi and Carlos Checa constantly on his tail for two thirds of the race until the Aprilia rider, on the 17th lap passed him and then would never relinquish the lead to the finish line.

Corser running second tried to catch Biaggi, but an error two laps later let Carlos Checa through and the Austrialian with his tires fading could only finish in third.
Leon Haslam who is Biaggi’s closest rival in the standings could only finish in eighth, and this gave the Aprilia Alitalia rider and advantage of 32 points in the overall standings.
Fourth went to Michel Fabrizio who seemed to be able to stay with the front runners, but slowly started to fade and when he started lowering his lap times, running almost the same times as Corser, it would to be too late and would finish 4.

Haga took the seventh spot, followed by Haslam and Shane Byrne who overtook James Toseland in the final laps to take ninth and letting his fellow countryman to close out the top ten.
Privateers Luca Scassa and Lorenzo Lanzi, were 11th and 12th respectively, while Jonathan Rea could only finish in 13th with his Honda continuing to have a bad case of chattering and team mate Max Neukirchner followed him in 14th, while Tom Sykes finished in 15th.
