Honda Faze not coming to Europe

Initial reports that the Honda Faze scooter would be coming to Europe have been denied by the company and so we won’t be seeing the new GT scooter at the 2010 EICMA show in Milan.
Honda has, however, clarified that this is a decision for the short term and so apparently we will still be seeing some surprises at the show.

According to reports, the Honda Faze won’t be introduced to the European market to avoid competition with the Honda PCX125 and the SW-T 400.

The decision seems a little strange though, as the Faze actually represents the more compact version of the latter scooter.
Perhaps it’s more about not swamping the European market with a scooter range to big to be absorbed.
The Faze itself is available in Japan as a 200cc model, and was set to be available in Europe in 125 and 300cc versions, thus being heir to the Pantheon and Foresight models.

We’ll have to see what else Honda has in store for EICMA 2010.
