Since the birth of the very first model – patented in 1946 by the legendary Corradino D’Ascanio – the mother of all Italian scooters has been fascinating plenty of fans the world over with his unique style and the reliability of its engine.
These key features allowed the Vespa to become the most popular and well-known scoot around the world, always up-to-date with grit and elegance.

Over the years the model has taken different shapes and sizes, but it always remained somewhat loyal to its signature, original design, with the classic rear-mounted engine, large front shield and big under-seat bellies.

For the summer of 2012, Piaggio has developed two new versions of the Vespa, with a brand new engine developed by Piaggio’s own Research and Development Center: meet the Vespa LX 3V and the Vespa S 3V, both of which will be powered by a new 4-stroke engine with 3-valve distribution that will provide for outstanding performance and low fuel consumption.
The Italian claims a fuel consumption of 55 km/l at 50 km/h, which means a staggering 30% less than the already quite sober engines of the previous generation.

The interval between services has also gone up, and is now extended to 10,000 km.
The new range will be available in 5 different colors, and will be produced in the LX “Touring” and S “Sport” variants.
