The Brain Cooling Helmet by ThermaHelm

This is one of the most interesting things to come out on safety and helmet technology, its called ThermaHelm and comes from inventor J.
Preston-Powers out of the Sussex University Innovation Centre.
Thermahelm incorporates a two packs of endothermic chemicals integrated inside the helmet lining and at the moment of impact the packs mix and trigger a chemical reaction that produces an instant ice pack that cools the head.

Research has shown that cooling the brain after a head injury reduces brain swelling and the risk of long term brain damage.
Thermahelm is looking to sell helmets with the packs already built-in, but they can retro-fit the system directly into your own helmet.
