Italian cuisine: Festa Artusiana festival at Forlimpopoli

If you’re someone who wants to tour the world going to food and wine festivals, you could spend a whole year just in Italy, no joke.
In the small city of Forlimpopoli, in Emilia Romagna, the 12th edition of the Festa Artusiana is underway which see nine days of cultural events dedicated to Pellegrino Artusi, literary critic and gastronomer who was born in the town in 1820.

Artusi is credited with giving voice to a truly national Italian cuisine with his cookbook “La scienza in cucine e l’arte di mangiare bene”, (The Science of Cooking and the Art of Eating Well).
The program of the event is full of interesting suggestions and aspects, described as a “militant festival for the defence and protection of quality products”.

Taking place are cooking classes and tasting dedicated to Emila Romagna local cuisine, and to Tuscany, guest region for this year.
There is a window decided to excellence in production in which every evening typical products are exhibited and tasted, after a discussion of their history.

For example the seasonal market gardens of Forlì and Cesena are featured.
