Italian singer Marco Mengoni wins at MTV European Music Awards

Proving either that he has international appeal, or that reality television has its legitimate stars, Marco Mengoni has won the Best European Act at the MTC Europe Music Awards for 2010.
The new Italian singing talent burst onto the scene last year (in fact, we dubbed him Italy’s Robbie Williams) after appearing on the X Factor show in Italy.

The prize is a success in itself but if you consider that the 22-year-old won against competition like Enrique Iglesias, you get a better picture of how Mengoni has been received.
The Italians are proud but even more so because Marco managed to thank everyone in English – the guys at Soundsblog.

it saying “so international”! And will he get a new nickname of ‘Crazy King’ in his new language to honour his first single…?
