Billionaire beaches in Italy: 500 euros for a spot by the sea

If you wanted to indulge in getting a deck chair, drinking beer and enjoying your own umbrella, Italy’s beaches have a lot to offer.
If you want to do this on a budget though, we recommend avoiding Flavio Briatore’s “Billionaire Beach” at Porto Rotondo in Sardinia.

The VIP prices mean you’re likely to spot Italian celebrities (maybe even Briatore’s wife Elisabetta Gregoraci) and empty your wallet while doing so.

Sardinia is the favoured destination for billionaire beaches with the first appearing at Porto Cervo, Capriccioli on the Emerald Coast.

Generally a sun bed with a tent or umbrella at the sea costs 280 euros, but in August you’ll pay 500 euros.
If you want a spot away from the sea, further up the beach, you can get it for less than half that.

A coffee will cost you seven euros (generally sold for 90 cents) and a coke can be anything between ten and 15 euros.
A salad with drink goes for the sum of 75 euros, and if you’re really lucky Briatore will appear as your waiter.
The Billionaire Beach has twenty tents in front of the sea and a restaurant that seats 120.

Apparently famous people are everywhere so we recommend booking with a platinum card, looking important or finding the right girl before you get near the place.
This summer in Italy is going to be an expensive one.
