Rome invaded by Pandas

Rome’s Piazza del Popolo has been invaded by panda statues as part of the WWF’s Oasis Day, which opens some protected areas to the public.
The statues will also be placed at the Ubertino bridge in Siracuse in occasion of the G8.

You can also buy one of the statues by making a donation via the WWF site, while April 27 will see autographed statues on auction on ebay.

Italian celebrities such as Francesco Totti, Fabrizio Frizzi and Alessandro Preziosi have signed the pandas, with funds collected going to projects to protect Italy’s environment, and to victims of Italy’s earthquakes.
