Italian Christmas recipes : lemon cake

With the Christmas season just around the corner, this Italian recipe for lemon cake will add a nice touch to your dinner party dessert menu.
Here are the ingredients:Plain flour; 2 eggs; 100 g sugar; 50 g butter; 3 tablespoons vanilla sugar; 50 g almond flour; lemon zest; lemon juice (one lemon will do); 100 ml milk; 1 teaspoon cinnamon and baking powder.

Method: Separate the egg yolks and egg whites.
Whip the whites until soft and creamy and then in a bowl mix the yolks with the melted butter, sugar and vanilla sugar.
Give it a good mix and then throw in the whipped whites, almond flour, lemon zest and milk.

At this point add the cinnamon, baking powder and flour, sifted.
Work until soft and creamy.
Pour the mixture in a buttered baking dish and bake at 180 c for 45 minutes! Delicious!
