Mercedes is considering the production of the SLS AMG E-Cell Roadster.
Sales of the electric coupe is expected to start this coming autumn, although Mercedes doesn’t hold any marketing forecasts yet, given the type of car and its absolute novelty in the German manufacturer line-up.
According to De Telegraaf, Mercedes is also considering production of the cabrio version of the SLS AMG E-Cell, in order to attract more customers who have a keen interest in the project.

Since bodywork, chassis and electric motor systems have already been built for the hard-top version, the production of the Roadster would be relatively inexpensive and would not cause many technical problems.
The Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell is equipped with four electric motors that have a combined output of 392 kW, 526 hp, and a maximum torque of 880 Nm.
The extraordinary power output and torque ratios of the elecrtric motors can push the supercar from 0 to 100 km / h in four seconds flat.
