The rumours come from PistonHeads who suggest that the 599 GTB Fiorano replacement will be true to tradition, being a front-engined, 12-cylinder model, currently with no all-wheel drive planned.
That’s good news for anyone worried that the FF would start setting trends for all future Ferraris.
The new model will borrow the 6.
3-litre V12 FF engine but with a few changes.
One significant update we should see is a reduction in weight: unsurprising given modern market requirements for supercars.

According to test driver Raffaele De Simone, ample carbon fibre will be used but not in structural parts.
While future uses of Ferrari’s new all-wheel drive technology haven’t been excluded, the 599 replacement should be a pure, driver-oriented car.

On the carbon fibre conundrum, De Simone says: “The history of aluminium isn’t finished yet.
Structural carbon fibre parts still aren’t economically sustainable for a production of two to three cars a day.
