WSBK Portimao: massive photo gallery from the track

The Portuguese GP of the World Superbike Championship saw Max Biaggi’s hopes to clinch his second SBK title grow esponentially thanks to the 4th and 3rd places collected by the Aprilia rider in the two races and the concurrent mistakes and misfortunes of his rivals.

Marco Melandri crashed out in Race-1 and was unable to participate to the second one because of the consequent injuries whereas Tom Sykes, who was able to cut the gap from the leader down to 14.

5 points after his stunning win of the first race, could do nothing when the engine of its Kawasaki ZX-10R blew up in smoke at the beginning of Race-2.

When there’s just the French GP to go – which will take place at the Magny Cours circuit the next October, the 7th – the 41 years old ace from Rome will need to collect just 20.
5 points out of the two races to earn himself the title, something that is definitely within his reach.
