Italian Panoramas: Capri and its Faraglioni

Capri is an island on the south side of Naples renowned for its breath-taking beauty since the Roman Empire.
Its rocky seashores and high cliffs dropping straight into the sea feature mysterious caves and enchanting coves.
The caves lurking under the cliffs were originally used by the Romans as nymphaeums which were, more or less, like private spas annexed to Roman villas .

In fact during the Roman Empire many patricians chose to build their summer houses on the island.
Undoubtedly the most famous cave on Capri is the Grotta Azzurra whose magical shifting lights enchanted many poets and writers who wrote rapturously about it.

The Faraglioni instead is one of the most famous sights of Capri, a series of rocky islets just off its shores; the beauty of which never fails to awaken the imagination of the traveller; leaving him breathless and thirsty for more!
