Chinese police ride Aprilia Mana 850

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger on a state visit to China was escorted by Chinese police and a crew of 30 Aprilia Mana motorcycles used by Chongqing police.
The Aprilia Mana 850’s are part of a new Chinese police motorcycle fleet and have apparently been specially adapted to policing tasks.

The Piaggio Group managed to negotiate supply of the Aprilia Mana bikes in a Piaggio Zongshen Foshan Motorcycle Co.

The Aprilia Mana 850 has the innovative SportGear automatic transmission for urban use, that can be used as either an electronic sequential gear change in a seven-speed manual set-up, or as an automatic set-up with three settings: Touring, Sport and Rain.

The engine is an 850cc, twin-cylinder, water cooled unit with electronic ignition.
